Quick Ways To Calm Puffy Eyes

If you’re waking up with puffy eyes every morning, you’re not alone.  Whether you’re staying up late, crying during sappy holiday movies, indulging in more salty foods than usual, or dealing with the stress of the holidays, all of these are reasons for the swollen look and undereye bags. The good news is there are simple tricks you can use to de-puff your eyes.

De-Puff and Get Rid of Under-Eye Bags

The eyes are areas of highly specialized skin that is vulnerable to several different systems and susceptible to various changes that affect their appearance. Genetics, fluid retention, allergies, lack of sleep, and poor diet can all have a negative impact on the appearance of the upper and lower eyelids.

Apply Cucumbers or Cold Tea Bags

Cucumbers are more than a cliché. They have antioxidants and cooling powers that can reduce irritation, swelling and redness. Simply place a slice on each eye for about 30 minutes to soothe the puffiness. If cucumbers aren’t your thing, try cold tea bags to reduce puffiness.  Chilled green, black or herbal tea bags can increase circulation under your eyes, which helps combat inflammation.

Use Witch Hazel

Witch Hazel can help reduce inflammation and redness under your eyes. Apply the astringent to cotton pads and rest them on your eyes for about 5 to 10 minutes.  It works even better when you have cooled the witch hazel in your fridge for about an hour prior to applying.

Upgrade Your Eye Care

The skin around your eyes is very thin and more sensitive than the skin on the other parts of your body. So, it’s more prone to irritation. Everything from aging to allergens in the environment can make it dry, flaky, and puffy.  A good eye cream is a must have, (men and women alike), for your daily and nightly skin care regimen.

Our all-natural Creamy Eye Treatment is formulated specifically for the delicate skin area surrounding eyes. This incredible cream features a blend of active plant ingredients that successfully reduces irritation and puffiness while tackling dark circles.  It regenerates and revitalizes while minimizing fine lines and wrinkles as it firms and restores skin.

Sleep with An Extra Pillow

When it’s time to call it a night, try sleeping with an extra pillow.  Sleeping in a slightly propped-up position can prevent fluid from building up around your eyes when you’re lying down.

Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water following a night of festivities.  Drinking more water might help flush the system.

Try these tips the next time you find yourself with some puffy eyes. With these tricks up your sleeve, you’ll be feeling and looking better in no-time.  If something seems out of the ordinary, be sure to see your doctor right away.
