How to Keep Your Skin Fresh & Clear While Traveling

Each year, billions of people will fly across the globe to reconnect and relax with family and friends, lie on the beach or a resort pool, hike mountain trails, explore a new city, or perhaps seeking a storybook-worthy vacation to an exotic country.

No matter the destination, preparing your skin and packing the right skincare products is important to counteract the effects that flying in an airplane will have on your skin.

If you’ve spent any time in an airplane, you’ve probably experienced that dehydrated, dry tight feeling on your skin caused by the recycled air that is low in humidity, which sucks moisture from the skin. If you already have dry skin, your symptoms can be worse, including redness, itching, flaking, and cracking. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be that way. There are things you can do to counteract these effects so that you arrive at your destination looking radiant.

We’ve put together some great tips to keep your skin glowing, radiant, and clear wherever your travels may take you.

Cleanse With Gentle Cleansers

Commercial cleansers start the drying process because they are formulated with synthetic ingredients that can dry and irritate the skin. We highly recommend getting rid of the liquid body washes and switch to an all natural cleanser. Try a bar of moisturizing Goat’s Milk Soap that is made with softening and soothing ingredients. You can use Goat’s Milk Soap as a facial cleanser too, or try one of our Facial Cleansing Oils that provides the delicate facial skin with intense hydration and moisturization. We now offer an All-Natural Foaming Face Wash for Normal to Dry Skin and one for Rosacea & Oily Acne Skin. Check out our complete line of Facial Cleanser.

Preparation

Gently exfoliate your skin the night before you travel to clear away dead skin cells. Try using a dual action Facial Cleansing Scrubs or give yourself a facial with one of these face masks; Pore Minimizing or Nutrient Rich, both formulated with natural moisturizing and hydrating ingredients. To exfoliate your body, reach for the Sugar Whipped Body Scrubs formulated with ultra-moisturizing shea butter and botanical oils that leave skin silky-soft and smooth.

Keep Your Moisturizer Handy

After you cleanse and exfoliate, it’s important to moisturize your skin. Natural skin care products are formulated with botanical ingredients that are easily absorbed to nourish and instantly hydrate the skin leaving it smooth and supple. They also restore elasticity while they condition and soften the skin.

We recommend one of these Facial Moisturinzing Creams and a rich, hydrating Hand and Body Lotion with Goat’s Milk or a luxurious cream such as the Whipped Shea Body Butter.

Bring a Toning Mist

Commercial hydrating sprays contain synthetic ingredients that evaporate quickly, leaving the skin dry instead of refreshed. Our Toning Mists are a natural alternative and solution. Choose one that is perfect for your skin type here.

Take The Moisturizer With You

There are plenty of small refill bottles available that meet the three-ounce limitation size, so fill one up and take it with you in your carryon bag, applying it a few times during the trip.

Watch Your Diet

Drink plenty of water and eat well several days before your flight. Processed food can cause inflammation and skin problems. Choose healthy meals and take fresh veggies, fruits and nuts for snacks on the go. Avoid alcohol and limit caffeine which dehydrate the system. Don’t let your body get dehydrated as this will dry out your skin too.

No matter the destination, packing the right skin care is as equally important as choosing the right wardrobe. If you are looking for natural products in convenient travel sizes, we have a number of travel kits and products to choose from, Get The Complete Line Here
