How To Heal Dry Cracked Lips

Your lips are one of the most delicate parts of your body, making the skin around your mouth vulnerable to irritation and dryness.  Chapped lips are most common in winter, when the cold, dry air dehydrates our skin. But winter isn’t the only season which spells trouble for our lips. Dry air, sun and wind will equally dry your lips all year round.

Fortunately, you can take steps to protect your lips and address concerns when they arise with lip care products from Natural Skin Revival.

Lip Skin 101

The skin on our lips is much thinner than the skin on the other parts of our body. This makes it easier for them to crack and chap and makes it much more important for us to take extra care of.

Our lips have a lesser amount of oil glands and no ability to create the sun-filtering natural melanin. This means that they have virtually no protection of their own.

Choosing The Right Lip Balm

Most lip balms out there are made with beeswax or lanolin, which are great moisturizers, but not vegan-friendly. Beyond the animal-free factor, finding a quality product to protect lips that’s free of questionable ingredients like parabens, chemical sunscreens, and petroleum, to name a few, is just as tough.

If you have been searching for a lip balm that is free of animal products and nasty ingredients, your search is over.  We offer the absolute best all-natural vegan lip balms that provide intense moisture as they soothe and nourish lips while delivering protection from harsh weather.

Whether you suffer from dry, cracked, or chapped lips, there’s something here for you.  Choose from a variety of fun flavors, a SUNCARE Lip Balm that provides natural protection for UVA/UVB damage and our new tinted balms for the smoothest lips of your life.  None of these products are tested on animals, so you can rest easy and give your lips some love! The tricky part will be picking one.

Ready to get poutrageously good lips? Here are our some of our best lip care tips and tricks.

Exfoliate

Gently scrub your lips smooth! To keep lips looking their best, gently exfoliate with a homemade scrub. This will smooth and soften the texture of the skin, which in turn will help to prevent your lipstick bleeding.

Always moisturize your lips after you exfoliate them.  Opt for our Multi-Purpose Soothing Skin Ointment or on of our fun flavored Vegan Balms. Limit your lip exfoliation routine to once a week, it is enough to remove the dry skin to help maintain soft and supple lips.

Homemade Honey Lip Scrub

This honey sugar mixture is an effective natural exfoliant and
moisturizing lip scrub.

  1. Mix one teaspoon of honey with two teaspoons of sugar.
  2. Massage the mixture into your lips and leave on for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Remove with warm, not hot washcloth.

Moisturize, Every Night

The best time to apply our Vegan Lip Balms is at night just before your head hits the pillow. Keep one on your nightstand, by your remote control, or wherever you nod off.

Lip skin is most receptive to repairing itself from damage caused by daily aggressors at night. Our lip balms are formulated to replenish and repair lips to keep them soft and healthy. Our go-to lip balms flavors for nighttime repair are Peppermint Tea Tree and Lavender Vanilla.

Protect Your Lips!

When you are going outdoors, make sure to apply a lip balm especially during the cold dry months. Use an SPF component to protect your lips from the harmful sun during the summer months.
