Treat and Manage Rosacea Without Medication
What is Rosacea
Rosacea is a common disorder — mainly affecting the facial skin — that causes redness on the nose, chin, cheeks and forehead. Over time, the redness may become more intense, taking on a ruddy appearance. Small blood vessels may become visible. (1)
The National Rosacea Society (NRS) has designated April as Rosacea Awareness Month to alert the public to the warning signs and the importance of seeking early diagnosis and finding a treatment plan. Left untreated, rosacea can get worse.
According to a recent report from the American Academy of Dermatology AAD, more than 1.6 million Americans sought medical treatment for rosacea in 2013, with a cost of $165 million in medical treatment and another $78 million in substantial loss of productivity.
These are significant numbers considering these “medical” treatments will not cure rosacea or treat it any faster or better than standard over-the-counter treatments.
Natural vs. Pharmaceutical
As a wellness advocate, my goal at LATIV, Natural Skin Revival, is to reduce prescription drug use and expenses by offering natural products at a fraction of the cost and to ultimately lower health care costs with a proactive approach that drives change by empowering people to take control of their health.
The truth is that expensive medications and treatments will not solve or treat rosacea and it just may be your every day habits that may be causing the flare-ups.
The most important thing to grasp about any topical application is that all of them are merely palliative. As effective as some of them are in soothing skin disorders, they do not get to the root cause.
Most skin disorders are gentle whispers of the body telling us there’s an imbalance going on inside that needs to be addressed, so they shouldn’t be ignored.
If you want want to get rid of rosacea permanently, the first thing you must do if fill your plate with nutrient rich foods and then use these same health conscious decisions about your personal care products.
Eat your way to a healthy body that will in turn give you healthy glowing skin.
Food Sensitivities
It’s important to know the top 8 food allergens – some of them may be affecting you. Eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, shellfish, soybeans, tree nuts, and wheat. Find your triggers: Factors That May Trigger Rosacea Flare-Ups
