ZINC RICINOLEATE
WHAT IT DOES: Zinc ricinoleate is derived from castor oil from the seeds of Ricinus communis. This is combined with zinc oxide, which is from the metallic zinc to form Zinc ricinoleate. Zinc ricinoleate traps and absorbs odor molecules in such a way that they are no longer perceivable, making it a highly effective natural deodorizer. Zinc ricinoleate absorbs odor more effectively than clays and baking soda.
WHAT DOES FRAGRANCE FREE MEAN?
Fragrance-free products cannot contain any ingredients that have been added to impart a smell. However they “may” contain ingredients that have a scent but are not added because of their scent. This is most often true with natural skin care products.
For example, aloe vera is a common ingredient used in natural skin care products that has its own unique aroma. This scent comes naturally from the plant, so products that contain aloe vera can be “fragrance free” and still have a noticeable scent.

DON’T OVER-APPLY
You might be used to slathering on the commercial brands but there is no need to over-swipe your armpit with an all-natural deodorant – a little goes a long way. Just 2 or 3 swipes is about it.
ABSORPTION IS EVERYTHING
Natural deodorants begin to soften upon contact with body heat. To apply, first hold the stick against your armpit until it warms slightly. Then, gently swipe it across your skin. Within about 30 seconds, your skin will absorb the botanical oils. Afterward, you can choose to pat off any excess deodorant from the surface of your skin, if desired.
